Manorville FD Responds a Car Train Accident

On Tuesday, July 30th @ 12:37 PM, Manorville FD was toned out to respond to a Car vs. Train Accident. Upon arrival, the Trains Conductor was awaiting arrival of emergency services at the rail road crossing gate. The car that was hit had 2 persons, 1 the driver, the other the passenger in the rear of the Taxi Cab. Manorville FD immediately started the extrication process for both patients. Manorville FD had to cut the drivers door and the passenger door and the roof off of the car in order to extricate both patients. 1 patient was transported via ambulance to the hospital, the other patient was transported by the SCPD Helicopter. Ambulances from Ridge FD and Center Moriches FD, and Stony Brook Medic 65 where on scene to assist. East Moriches FD responded with 1 Engine to the Helicopter Landing Zone. All units where cleared from the alarm and back in service @ 13:59 Hours.
